Angel is the culmination of a month-long performance and its accompanying artifacts from a 2016 endurance project in Spain. I walked the Camino de Santiago, an ancient pilgrimage road that runs from St. Jean Pied du Port, France, to Santiago de Compostela, Spain, barefoot and under a vow of silence. I documented my way with prints of my feet and artifacts given to me by other pilgrims, who created and perpetuated the rumor that I was deaf, mute, and an angel.
